We aim to provide competent and clear advice based on a simple principle. Our first question is always whether we can make a significant difference to the conduct of your immigration or nationality affairs in the UK, since certainty is the key to a successful legal relationship. Whether it is your intention to study, work, invest, or join a family member here, we will handle your enquiry with tact and discretion. Whatever your needs are, we will ensure that the answer will be in compliance with UK or European law.

Business & Commercial Immigration

This is one of the largest areas of our practice. We deal with all the general and sub-categories of Tiers 1 & 2. We have wide and extensive experience in the Tier 1 sub-categories of Investors & Entrepreneurs. Applications for Sole Representative status, a category retained under the Immigration Rules, also represent a large element of our work. We also deal with self-employed applicants under the transitional arrangements for A2 nationals and the Turkish Association Agreement. We have assisted and successfully completed numerous applications on behalf of employers for Sponsorship Licences under Tier 2 and are a Level 1 User for many of our clients. We continue to assist in the preparation and submission of applications under Tier 2 (General) and the sub-category of Tier 2 (Intra Company Transfers). Click here for more information.

Nationality

We have been assisting individuals and families with the acquisition of British nationality since the practice was established over 20 years ago. Most applicants would be naturalised under Section 6 of the British Nationality Act 1981, either on the basis of 5 years residence or 3 years plus marriage or civil partnership. However, we take particular pride in the work we have done involving applications for registration of children under either Section 1 or Section 3 of the Act. We also have considerable and extensive experience in the various types of registration applications possible under Section 4. We also deal with Certificates of Entitlement to the Right of Abode, can assist with status tracing, and advise on all other aspects of nationality entitlements.

Individuals

We handle the entire spectrum of routes involving an individual’s establishment in the UK. Whether it is an application for limited leave to enter or remain in the UK for fiancé(e)s, spouses, Civil Partners, unmarried partners or dependent relatives of British citizens or settled persons, family members of EEA nationals exercising establishment rights in the UK, student applications under Tier 4, an application on family reunion or retirement grounds, or an application for settlement (also known as Indefinite Leave to Remain or permanent residence) after a period of qualifying leave, we can provide you with effective advice and assistance. Click here for more information.

EEA Applications

This is a fast growing area of our practice. We have the specialist expertise to advise on all questions relating to the 2006 EEA Regulations and the various European Community Directives, including residence applications for non-European Union family members of European Union nationals who are living in the UK. We can also assist you with the assessment of claims for nationality or citizenship of other Member States within the European Community.

Appeals and Discretionary Leave to Remain

Another expanding area of our practice is Appeal work following refusal of initial applications for leave to enter or remain in the UK and applications made to the Home Office UK Border Agency (UKBA) outside the published Immigration Rules and Regulations. Principally these involve seeking to invoke compelling compassionate circumstances or Human Rights arguments to justify the grant of continuing permission to remain in the UK under published policy.
